Pete Seeger and Family Law

After hearing about the passing of Pete Seeger, it took me about three seconds to know exactly how I might tie his life to a blog devoted to family law. In some ways family law is about redeeming bad decisions with better choices. It’s about hope. Ms. Allen may have made the wrong decision not to love the young man in this life, but she made the right choice to wed “the rose bush and the briar.”

I’m not sure if this is the greatest version of Barbara Allen ever sung—after all, the song is 500 years old—but I’m pretty sure this is the greatest version ever recorded.

Thank you, Mr. Seeger, for your 94 years on this earth and all that wonderful, wonderful music.
